Who we are

When I first started teaching, I only thought about educating my learners and what influence I could have on them. As I’ve grown older and more experienced, I’ve realized that I want to change the educational system completely. I expect to inspire other teachers to be as zealous about coaching as I am, and I want to boost lawmakers to style policy that will be in the best interest of teachers and students. As teachers, we are on the front end and have a supreme effect on students. It’s an overwhelming responsibility—one that I will at all times be ready to take.

Teaching is one of the most intricate jobs at the moment, particularly online teaching. How do I Consider myself as a good teacher?

I expect high. I expect that all students can and will achieve well in the online classroom, and I don’t give up on underachievers.

  • I have clear, written-out objectives. I have lesson plans that give students a clear idea of what they will be learning, what the home works are and what the assessment policy is. Home works have learning goals and give students a plentiful chance to practice Quran. Also, I attempt to be steady in grading.
  • I am prepared and systematized. I am always on time in my online Quran teaching rooms and ready to teach. I present lessons in a perfect and structured way. My group classes and one-on-one sessions are planned in such a way as to lessen diversions.
  • I engage students and expect variety. I ask “why” questions, gaze at all sides and inspire students to foresee what will occur next. I ask questions often to make certain students are following along. I try to involve the whole class, and I don’t permit a few students to rule the class. I keep students interested with diverse, lively tactics.
  • I form sturdy relationships with my learners and show that I care about them as people. I am sincere, reachable, passionate and gentle. I am known to stay after class or any one-on-session and make myself available to learners and parents who need my assistance. 
  • I am a master of what I teach. I exhibit proficiency in the subject I am teaching and spend time continuing to upsurge my knowledge of Islam. I present Islam in a fervent manner and instill a hunger in my students to study more on their own.
  • I connect frequently with parents. I reach parents through E-mails and numerous written reports home. I don’t waver to pick up the telephone to call a parent if they are concerned about their child.

Self-learning

Yet another concept I apply in my online courses is that of indorsing self-learning in a controlled setting. With self-learning, I inspire students to search Islam and choose what facets are most significant or pertinent to their own interests. My apprentices enjoy the additional autonomy.

Mind Mapping

Mind mapping is perhaps one of the finest online teaching techniques to implement for the visual students within your group. This has aided me in constructing classroom discussions, classifying ideas and progressively bringing students to the principal idea. The purpose is to uncomplicate the complex notions.

The paybacks for students is that it’s speedy, stress-free and lets them to “dive right in” the ideas around a chief concept and linking the dots to reach the chief idea.

Last but not the least, I consider exploring adaptive learning for my online classroom. This technique involves using computers and other technologies as worthwhile teaching devices. 

For some of my apprentices, learning Islam by seeing any related video may be more helpful. Others may absorb better by participating in online discussion forums. Eventually, it’s up to me to transform each student from a passive receiver of information into a willing and active participant in the online class. This may mean providing diverse mediums (video, text, visuals, etc.) for presenting every fresh lesson or concept.

Instructional Design

Instructional design means taking the time to get an improved understanding of your students. 

  • What is their present understanding of the subject matter? 
  • What are their diverse learning styles? 

I send out a survey prior to the beginning of the course to get a healthier idea of the context of my students. From there, I plan and apply a course that is personalized with this information in mind and that eventually works towards attaining my anticipated goals and upshots. In humblest terms, instructional design identifies that there’s no “one-size-fits-all” tactic to teaching
